Siding is an important part of your home so it’s important you properly maintain it. Here’s a list of things to avoid to maintain your siding:
- Don’t use harsh cleaning agents: Your siding gets dirty from time to time and you will have to clean it. Some grime will be hard to get off, but it’s important that you don’t use harsh cleaning agents because they can be more damaging than helpful. Don’t use any cleaners that contain liquid grease remover, undiluted chlorine bleach, or furniture polish.
- Keep your grill away from your house: Grill’s can reach up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit and could cause your siding to melt and warp so keep it at least 10 feet away from your siding.
- Don’t use tough cleaning tools: Hard cleaning tools like wire brushes can leave scratches on your siding. It is recommended that you use a soft cloth or nylon bristle brush.
